Falling Asleep During Trial: During a hush money trial, Donald Trump appeared to fall asleep in the courtroom.  He later “jolted back awake” after noticing notes passed to him by his lawyer . The trial is significant as it marks the first-ever criminal trial of a former or current US president. It revolves around alleged hush money payments to adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. Trump has pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of fraud related to an alleged cover-up of that payment in his accounts . Calling the Case a ‘Scam’: Trump has referred to the hush money case as a “scam.” The trial began with jury selection, and he faces accusations of criminally altering business records to conceal the $130,000 payment to Stormy Daniels .
