War Update InfoPod Iran Apologises as US Trump Demands Surrender #infopod #newsupdate

Good morning.
You’re listening to the War Update InfoPod — a clear look at what has changed overnight, and what it might mean.

This morning there are mixed signals coming out of the conflict involving Iran — suggesting both possible de-escalation and continued hardline positions.

First, a significant diplomatic development overnight.

Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has issued an apology to neighbouring countries that were hit during recent Iranian missile strikes. He said the attacks were linked to the presence of foreign military bases in those countries and stressed that Iran has no intention of targeting its neighbours directly. (AP News)

Iran’s leadership has now stated that it will no longer carry out missile strikes on neighbouring states unless an attack against Iran originates from those countries. (The Guardian)

In other words, Tehran is signalling that it intends to limit its military actions to retaliation, rather than widening the conflict across the region.

However, at the same time a very different message has come from Washington.

U.S. President Donald Trump has said that he will accept no deal with Iran short of “unconditional surrender.” (Reuters)

Trump has argued that only a complete surrender by Iran would end the conflict and allow any rebuilding or political transition to begin.

This creates a sharp contrast in positions.

Iran is signalling limits to its retaliation, while the U.S. leadership is demanding total surrender as the condition for peace.

Meanwhile, military operations continue. Overnight explosions were reported in Tehran as further strikes hit military targets, while missile alerts were triggered in Israeli cities as air-defence systems intercepted incoming threats. (The Indian Express)

So the situation this morning is complex.

There are early diplomatic signals that Iran may be trying to narrow the scope of the conflict, but there is no indication yet that the political demands driving the war are softening.

Whether the war moves toward negotiation — or continues to escalate — may depend on how those two positions evolve in the coming days.

That’s the situation this morning.
You’re up to date — and we’ll watch what changes next.
