War Update InfoPod — Late Night

Good evening.
You’re listening to the War Update InfoPod — a clear look at what has changed today, and what it might mean.

Tonight, the Iran war has entered its sixth day, and the conflict continues to widen across the Middle East.

U.S. and Israeli forces are maintaining sustained air and naval strikes against Iranian targets, while Iran continues missile and drone retaliation across the region.

The conflict now spans Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Gulf states, and surrounding sea routes, with Hezbollah opening a northern front against Israel from Lebanon earlier in the week.

One of the most dramatic developments today was a U.S. submarine attack that sank an Iranian warship in the Indian Ocean, killing dozens of sailors and signalling a significant escalation at sea.

Meanwhile, global markets remain tense as shipping risks rise and oil prices react to threats around key energy routes in the region.

Politically, the war is entering a new phase as President Donald Trump has outlined what he says are the achievements of the campaign so far.

Trump claims the operation is “ahead of schedule,” arguing that Iranian leadership structures and military capabilities have been severely weakened by the strikes.

The opening phase of the war included the targeted killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, a move intended to destabilise the Iranian leadership and reshape the political landscape inside the country.

Trump has also stated that the United States expects to play a role in shaping Iran’s future leadership, saying Washington should be involved in deciding who replaces the current regime.

The stated strategic goals of the campaign include destroying Iran’s missile forces, dismantling its nuclear programme, and ending support for regional proxy groups.

At the same time, the president has not ruled out further escalation, including the possible deployment of U.S. ground troops if the situation requires it.

International reactions remain mixed.
Some allies are supporting defensive measures, while others question the legality of the strikes and worry about a wider regional war.

As we move into the overnight hours, the key risks remain regional escalation, disruption to global energy supply, and further retaliatory attacks.

That’s the situation for now.
You’re up to date — and we’ll watch what changes next.
