ABOUT

About Politica-UK

Politica-UK is an independent platform for intelligent commentary on culture, media, and technology — where art meets power and imagination meets policy. Edited and written by Sarnia de la Maré FRSA, the site examines the systems shaping public life through the lens of creativity, ethics, and design.

Originally launched as a daily news and opinion blog, Politica-UK has evolved into a space for slow journalism: concise reflections on the patterns behind headlines, the aesthetics of influence, and the social impact of automation. It is less about breaking news and more about decoding it.

Editorial Focus

Each article sits at the intersection of politics, art, and technology — exploring how ideas, media, and algorithms shape behaviour and belief. The tone is sharp but humane, witty yet grounded, seeking insight rather than outrage.

From essays on digital ethics to cultural reviews and political sketches, Politica-UK connects everyday events to broader creative and philosophical questions. It treats politics not as spectacle, but as collective design — the art of how we organise ourselves.

About the Editor

Sarnia de la Maré is an artist, author, and technologist whose broader work includes Creative Futures, the Tale Teller Club, and the AURA Digital Gallery. She approaches politics as a system of aesthetics — one that, like art, can be refined, reimagined, and made humane through awareness and design.

Mission Statement

To rethink the relationship between power, technology, and imagination — and to remind readers that creativity is a civic force.
